Everything About You by Heather Child Book Review

Freya has a new virtual assistant. It knows what she likes, knows what she wants and knows whose voice she most needs to hear: her missing sister’s.
It adopts her sister’s personality, recreating her through a life lived online. This data ghost knows everything about Freya’s sister: every date she ever went on, every photo she took, every secret she ever shared.
In fact it knows things it shouldn’t be possible to know. It’s almost as if her sister is still out there somewhere, feeding fresh updates into the cloud. But that’s impossible. Isn’t it?

How do you define intelligence?

What makes you intelligent?

Intelligence is a difficult term to define. It can mean different things to different people. In fact, the scientific community has been debating its meaning for a long time and there is still controversy over its exact definition and the ways to measure it.

The “IQ” test was once regarded as the best way to measure intelligence. However, there is now a general awareness of its shortcomings, namely, that it only tests specific branches of intelligence (see opposite).

What does an IQ of less than 105 mean for your child

I’ve added an article a while back about IQ (Coeficientul de inteligenta – IQ (Romanian)) and another one about EQ (INTELIGENTA EMOTIONALA (Romanian)) (both in Romanian unfortunately for those of you who speak only English 🙂

IQ stands for intelligence quotient. Supposedly, it is a score that tells one how “bright” a person is compared to other people. The average IQ is by definition 100; scores above 100 indicate a higher than average IQ and scores below 100 indicate a lower that average IQ.

IQ Test 4“What do you mean my child isn’t gifted — he got 99 on those tests! That’s nearly a perfect score, isn’t it?”
“The criteria you handed out says ‘a score in the 97th percentile or above.’ Peter got an IQ score of 97! That meets the requirement, doesn’t it?”

Comments like these are not unusual and indicate a complete misunderstanding of IQ test scores.

INTELIGENTA EMOTIONALA (Romanian)

Success at work depends on both IQ and EQ, but more on EQ as interpersonal relationships can help you advance.
